FAQs about Corefix Plasterboard Fixings

Do Corefix plasterboard fixings come with a warranty?

Yes – all Corefix fixings come with a 12-month materials and workmanship warranty, limited to the cost of replacing the faulty items. Its rare, but if anything goes wrong due to a manufacturing fault, we’ll resolve the issue quickly.

Are Corefix plasterboard fixings tested for trade use?

Yes – all Corefix fixings are designed with professional use in mind. We test our products in real site conditions and work closely with contractors to ensure they meet the demands of their day-to-day work.

Are Corefix plasterboard fixings suitable to be used with a swing bracket?

We do not generally recommend them for cantilever or swing brackets on any plasterboard. The load on the fixings increases the further out the bracket is pulled, so swing/cantilever brackets are always best attached to either studs or masonry if possible.

Can Corefix plasterboard fixings be removed and reused?

Corefix Twist fixings are designed to be removable and reusable, but the rest of our plasterboard range are not intended to be removable. While you may be able to gently ease Corefix Spike fixings out of the wall with e.g. a knife blade and reuse them, they are not specifically designed for it.

Are Corefix plasterboard fixings strong enough to support a heavy tv or shelf?

If the fixing is installed correctly within the weight limit and its intended use, and the bracket is not a cantilever bracket, it will be strong enough. Please see individual product datasheets for load ratings and recommended uses.
