Are Corefix Spike plasterboard fixings suitable to be used with a swing bracket?
No we do not generally recommend Corefix Spike for cantilever or swing brackets on any plasterboard.
What is the max fixture fitting thickness for Corefix Spike?
For Spike 40mm it’s 10mm, for Spike 60mm it’s 30mm.
How much space do Corefix Spike plasterboard fixings need to open behind the plasterboard?
The Corefix Spike fixing’s wings needs a minimum about 35mm cavity to open.
How can I tell if the Corefix Spike fixing is properly set behind the board?
If the bolt is screwed all the way in then the wings will have opened fully – if anything was obstructing them, the bolt would not go all the way in. The arrows on the fixing cap show which way the wings are facing, so check that they are pointing straight up and down for the strongest hold.
Will Corefix Spike plasterboard fixings be strong enough to support a 32in tv or a heavy shelf?
If the fixing is installed correctly within the weight limit, and the bracket is not a cantilever bracket, it will be strong enough.
Can Corefix Spike plasterboard fixings be removed and reused?
While you may be able to gently ease the fixing out of the wall with e.g. a knife blade and reuse it, they are not specifically designed for it.
